Position Description:

A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the laboratory of Kamal Rahmouni, Ph.D., in the Department of Pharmacology. A highly motivated postdoctoral scholar is needed for NIH funded research on the neurobiology of energy homeostasis, autonomic regulation and blood pressure control relating to obesity and hypertension.

Education Requirement:

Ph.D.

Required Qualifications:

A qualified candidate for this position is expected to have a strong publication record and excellent references from Ph.D. research. A notable feature of this postdoctoral position will be experience in combining state-of-the-art genetic and molecular methods with sophisticated neural, metabolic and cardiovascular physiologic techniques to address fundamental mechanisms of neurobiological regulation of autonomic and cardiovascular and energy homeostasis using mouse models of obesity and hypertension. Proficiency in neural tracing and immunohistochemistry is required.

Desirable Qualifications:

Experience with genetics, molecular biology and/or neurophysiology is highly desired.
