A postdoctoral research position is available in the group of Prof. Sebastian Hiller at the Biozentrum of the University Basel. The research project concerns structural and functional studies of a natural chaperone–substrate complex using solution NMR spectroscopy and complementary biophysical techniques, in combination with suitable biochemical preparations. The project has the overall goal to unravel the molecular basis of the chaperoning function at atomic resolution. As an example for our work, see Burmann et al. NSMB 20, 1265 (2013).
Interested candidates require a Ph.D. degree with expertise in biomolecular NMR spectroscopy and at least basic experience in biochemistry. The position is well funded for two years, with possibilities for extension. The Biozentrum Basel offers an international, exciting and enthusiastic work environment. Facilities for structural biology include 600–900 MHz Bruker spectrometers, as well as all major structural biology and biophysics instruments. The start date is immediately or upon mutual agreement.
Applications and informal queries about the research projects should be directed by email to Sebastian Hiller. Applications include a letter of motivation summarizing current and future research interests, a CV, list of publications and contact information for at least two references.
