A postdoc/senior postdoc position in the field of Theoretical Systems Biology is available at the Institute of Mathematical Modeling of Biological Systems at the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. The position is available initially for two years and renewable up to six years and comes with an attractive salary (A13, Beamter auf Zeit).

We are looking for an outstanding candidate (physics/mathematics/engineering background) with strong analytical and computational skills and significant knowledge in machine learning and data analysis methods, such as dynamic programming, neutral networks, curve fitting, and resampling techniques. Our aim is to decipher how RNA sequence information determines protein expression levels in prokaryotes, using recently generated large scale data sets in combination with machine learning and mathematical modeling.

The position comes with a significant amount of freedom to work on own research projects and candidates that intent to set up their own research group are preferred.
