A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Wenjian Gan in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular biology, Medical University of South Carolina. The Gan lab is interested in understanding the regulatory mechanisms and physiological functions of E3 ubiquitin ligases and mTOR/Akt kinase cascade in human cancers, as well as identifying druggable targets for cancer therapy. Studies will use a range of complementary methods including biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, functional cell-based assays and mouse genetic models.
The candidate should be highly motivated with a recent Ph.D. degree and a solid background and skills in molecular cell biology and biochemistry. Experience in signaling transduction and mouse genetics is desirable but not necessary.
