A postdoctoral position in computational materials physics is available under the supervision of Professor Normand Mousseau, in the Département de physique, Université de Montréal, as part of a research project funded by the Qatar Research Foundation.
This research project centers on the numerical study of iron-based alloys and involves researchers in Qatar, France and Canada. The role of the postdoctoral associated hired in Montreal will focus on the application of various accelerated methods — the activation-relaxation technique (ART nouveau) and an on-the-fly off-lattice kinetic Monte Carlo technique — kinetic ART — to iron-based alloys. For recent work on this and related problems, please consult http://www.phys.umontreal.ca/~mousseau/
The candidate should be well versed in atomistic simulations and have extensive experience in programming and code development. While the candidate will be based in Montreal, it is expected that she/he will also spend about 3 months per year in Qatar
Review of the applications will start on September 30th and will continue until a suitable candidate is found. Only applications meeting the above criteria will be acknowledged.
