Project Title: Novel signalling pathways regulating nociception
Two Medical Research Council (MRC) funded postdoctoral research positions are available, in a collaboration between Faculty of Medicine and Health (FOMH) and Faculty of Biological Sciences (FBS). You will be based in the laboratories of Professor Christopher Peers (FOMH) and Dr Nikita Gamper (FBS) in the School of Biomedical Sciences.

The project seeks to investigate modulation of key ion channels in pain-sensing neurons. The project is multidisciplinary and involves electrophysiological, imaging, biochemical, molecular-biological, and behavioural studies, therefore experience in at least some of these methods is essential; background in peripheral pain pathways is also welcomed (although not necessary). You will have a PhD in neuroscience, physiology or pharmacology (or equivalent) and lab experience with the ability to use sophisticated equipment as well as good communication skills. We are looking for enthusiastic, ambitious and self-motivated scientists who are able to work independently and as part of the team.
