The Division of Translational Neuroscience Research in Schizophrenia in the Department of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher with a molecular biology background and an interest in psychiatric disorders. We are looking for a postdoc who is interested in working with animal models of functional brain diseases like psychosis doing behavioral and molecular analyses. We carry out animal model research in connection with studies of high quality human postmortem brain tissue, DNA, and case-specific fibroblasts as translational tools, guided by in vivo human brain imaging.
Candidates should have knowledge and experience with animal behavior, microarrays, western blots, in situ hybridization, genotyping, and specifically the pathophysiology of psychosis is preferred. The ideal candidate will have previous experience with animal model research and molecular biology.
