美国华盛顿大学医学院肾病研究博士后招收

时间:2013-09-05来源:博士人才网 作者:91boshi

Descriptions:

An opportunity is immediately available for a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Washington University Renal Division. The main focus of the ongoing research is to understand the molecular mechanisms of the glomerular filtration barrier and proteinuria. Currently we are investigating the role of podocyte endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress induced by gene mutations in the pathogenesis of nephrotic syndrome, seeking for biomarkers of podocyte ER stress, and exploring novel treatments (J Am Soc Nephrol. 22: 849-858 2011; J Am Soc Nephrol. 24: 1223-1233 2013). The second focus in the laboratory is to study the crosstalk between podocytes and glomerular endothelial cells (GECs) / peritubular capillary ECs in a variety of kidney diseases including diabetic nephropathy and renal fibrosis. We are using cutting-edge research approaches including mammalian cell culture, molecular and cell biology, biochemistry, transgenic and knock-out animal models, genomic methods, and state-of-the-art in vitro & in vivo imaging techniques. In addition, we have successfully generated both in vitro and mouse models to achieve our research goals. The PI’s research is currently funded by NIH, the Children’s Discovery Institute and American Society of Nephrology.

Required Qualifications:

A PhD or MD/PhD degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other related fields is required. Previous experience with mouse models of human diseases or kidney-related research is highly desired, but not required.

Department Summary:

The Washington University Renal Division has been ranked as top dozen by US News & World Report every year since ratings began. The research environment is outstanding.

Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience. Provide excellent fringe benefits.

Applicant Special Instructions:

If you are a career-oriented, highly-motivated researcher who is interested and committed to understanding kidney diseases, please email a CV, a cover letter and the names of three references to:
