This is a post-doctoral research position in linguistics and human motivation, working on a research project on motivational prosody. The project investigators are Dr Netta Weinstein and Dr Silke Paulmann (University of Essex, Colchester, UK). The project is funded by The Leverhulme Trust, and will use experimental and neurological methods to examine how people communicate motivation through tone of voice. The project will build on and extend recent laboratory research on this topic. Based at the University of Essex (Colchester, UK), the post-doctoral researcher will be responsible for organizing research activities, implementing, conducting, and analyzing research studies, and will contribute to the dissemination of findings from the project.
The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree (2.1 or above) or a masters degree (or equivalent qualifications) and a PhD in a relevant field. Prior experience of independent research in psychology and knowledge of experimental and statistical methods for research are also essential.
Salary: £30,424 per annum
