More specifically you will :

Identify and solve deficiencies in our crop simulation models within the APSIM modelling system.

Undertake analysis of existing datasets, conduct new field experiments, derive improved algorithms and modelling approaches, and to test these new approaches against field data.

Publish the results of your work in journal articles.

Work closely with crop physiologists, agronomists and software engineers

You will be mentored by senior scientists as part of CSIRO’s Postdoctoral Fellows Program which aims to train early career scientists for a research role. An understanding of the physiological principles underpinning crop growth and development.

Demonstrated ability to design, conduct and analyse field experiments examining crop growth and to derive equations or algorithms to describe these empirical data

An understanding of the principles and current applications of dynamic simulation models in agricultural science.
