美国德克萨斯大学达拉斯分校招聘细胞生物学博士后

时间:2013-11-05来源:博士人才网 作者:91boshi

Job Description

Post-doc and Ph.D. positions are available to carry out research in the modeling of trajectories of molecular transport processes in cells. The specific questions relate to the analysis of the dynamics of cancer markers and cancer therapeutics. The projects are carried out in close collaboration with colleagues at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.

The imaging of the dynamics of single molecules in live cells has the promise of revolutionizing cell biology and has attracted very significant attention cell biology, biophysics and physical chemistry. These techniques bring about unique challenges regarding the analysis of the acquired images since the signal from the single molecules is typically very weak in the presence of significant sources of noise. The currently available techniques for the modeling of trajectories of molecules in cells are inadequate to analyze and appropriately model the dynamical processes observed by modern imaging experiments.

The project involves the development of stochastic models for the modeling molecular trajectories in cells that are acquired using modern microscopy techniques. Important elements of the project will be the development of tools to estimate parameters from the acquired trajectories.

The positions will provide the opportunity to not only work on projects of significant technical interest but also to become familiar with the fundamental biological questions that are being addressed in the laboratory. Specifically the laboratory investigates the trafficking of therapeutically relevant engineered antibodies in live cell environment, a problem that is major interest in the biopharma industry.

To Apply

Highly motivated individuals with a background in signal processing, statistics, applied mathematics, probability theory or equivalent qualification will be considered.
