Postdoctoral Fellow in Virology in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology
The Postdoctoral Fellow position is offered for a fixed-term of three years working to define a new mechanism by which viruses evade cellular defences. Specifically, the project will identify and characterise the factor responsible for the ability of the parapoxvirus, Orf virus, to evade the anitiviral activities of cellular barrier to autointegration factor. The collaborative study will be conducted in conjunction with Professor Paula Traktman, Medical College of Wisconsin.
Qualifications for the position include: (1) PhD in Molecular Biology, Virology, Cell Biology, or related discipline, and (2) research experience as evidenced by first author publications in reputable journals. Experience with basic molecular biology techniques (PCR, recombinant DNA work), mammalian cell culture and virology is preferred.
