Durham University wishes to appoint a full-time Post-Doctoral Research Associate (PDRA).
The successful applicant will be supervised by Prof Stuart Wilson (Durham) and Prof Chris Barratt (Medical Research Institute, College of Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing, University of Dundee) and will use modern cellular methods, including single cell electrophysiology, to investigate the mechanisms that allow hormones, and other factors present in the female reproductive tract, to evoke changes to the pattern of sperm motility that are essential for fertilization. This post thus offers an opportunity to study an issue of fundamental important to reproductive biology, and we are keen to receive applications from candidates with experience of either single cell electrophysiology or reproductive biology.
We are particularly keen to hear from highly motivated candidates who are keen to develop an independent research career and will encourage such candidates to prepare applications for personal fellowships. Ideally applicants will have a PhD in biological science or a related field.
