We have an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Department of Oncology.
You will be part of an enthusiastic research team investigating the hypoxia-induced DNA damage response. The lab is focused on the signalling from the ATR and ATM kinases down to p53 in response to hypoxia. In response to hypoxia this signalling occurs in the absence of detectable DNA damage and leads to a stress specific p53 response. Our recent work has shown that the chromatin context plays a key role in the hypoxia-induced DNA damage response.
You will be involved in a continuation of this research project, taking the initiative in driving this project forward. You will also be offered the opportunity to support specific translational projects alongside your scientific research.
As well as a PHD/DPhil in a relevant subject, you should have a high level of technical competence and substantial experience in standard molecular biological, biochemical and tissue culture techniques. You will have at least one first author publication in a recognised international journal, as well as experience of working in the fields of DNA damage response (includes p53), replication stress, hypoxia or chromatin.
This is a full-time post and is available until 31 March 2017 in the first instance.
