Grade 7: £29,837 – £30,728p.a.
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Immunologist to join an exciting project studying the impact of S. aureus carriage on the human immune system at the Jenner Institute, located in the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Physiology.
You will have a Ph.D. degree in immunology / infectious diseases and an interest in the immunological response to pathogenic bacteria. You will be involved in design and conduct of human observational studies, looking both at humoral and cellular response to S. aureus in a number of different human cohorts. Development of a serological test for S. aureus carriage is one goal of the project. You will have good interpersonal skills and be able to interact productively and accurately with other team members. Previous experience of human immunology, including flow cytometry, is important, and some experience with bacteriology under category II conditions is desirable, as is experience with murine immunology.
You will have the ability to manage the day-to-day running of a research project and will have good communication skills. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to work independently as well as in a team.
The position is funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) via the Oxford Biomedical Research Centre and is fixed-term for 1 year in the first instance.
