The Department of Physics and Astronomy wishes to appoint a postgraduate level researcher to undertake experimental research in the area of perovskite-base photovoltaic devices.
In this project, you develop and further optimize methods to fabricated spray-coated perovskite photovoltaic devices and will help scale-up the device active area to 10's of square cm. You will also perform both structural and spectroscopic measurements to explore the basic physics of solar-cell operation. You will be based in the Electronic and Photonic Molecular Materials Group in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Sheffield, and will work in our clean rooms in the Kroto Centre on North Campus. You will work closely with students and postdocs at Sheffield developing perovskite PV, and will also collaborate closely with other UK-based Supergen Supersolar research groups.
You will have, or be about to obtain, a PhD in physics or an appropriate area of materials science, physical chemistry or electronic-engineering.
