Applications are invited for a researcher with experience of analysing high throughput genomic data and software programming skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of scientific methodologies and IT solutions for the analysis and interpretation of high-throughput genomic data (i.e. this analysis will focus on biomarker data from breast tumours and links with clinical endpoints). The post holder will work jointly with Dr Niklas Feldhahn, Dr Leandro Castellano and Professor Justin Stebbing and their respective research groups.
To fulfil the essential requirements of the post, the successful candidate will have a PhD (or equivalent qualification and experience) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology (or a related discipline), enjoy working alongside clinicians and biologists on complex real-world datasets, have significant experience using tools such as R/Bioconductor, Matlab, Perl Java and SQL and a good working knowledge of current concepts in eukaryotic gene expression mechanisms.
This post is full time for a fixed term of 12 months in the first instance and supported from an award made by Action Against Cancer. The post holder will be based at the Hammersmith Hospital campus, East Acton.
