Postdoctoral Research Officer/Senior Research Officer : Melbourne, Australia
The Senior/Research Officer will conduct research in the areas of mammalian sex determination and gonadal development. The position will use state-of the art technologies (genetically engineered murine models, genome-wide approaches) to identify and characterize genes responsible for disorders of sex development, also known as intersex conditions. The position (NHMRC Program grant funded; please visit dsdgenetics.org) will work with support, guidance and mentorship from Professor Vincent Harley, Centre for Reproductive Health.
Demonstrated abilities:
- Proven to work independently and track record of quality publications in peer reviewed journals
- Technical skills in molecular and/or developmental biology, human/mouse genetics, tissue cell culture, and gene expression analysis
- Bioinformatics experience analyzing NGS (e.g. ChIP-seq, RNAseq, exome) data sets is desired.
If you are have a PhD or M.D/PhD training in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, or a related discipline with excellent communication skills, are extremely organised with innovative problem solving skills then we welcome your application.
