A new and exciting postdoctoral fellowship opportunity using genomics to study complex pediatric traits of global importance is available immediately in the Department of Molecular and Human Genetics, Baylor College of Medicine. The recruiting laboratory is fully funded and is currently conducting genomic and epigenomic analyses using data generated using microarray and next-generation sequencing platforms across a broad portfolio of pediatric diseases. The successful candidate would be expected to perform detailed genomics and statistical analyses, including integrated analyses, as part of an ongoing study of nutrient stress in childhood. The lab is located in the Children’s Nutrition Research Center, Baylor College of Medicine, and is directly integrated with the Department of Molecular and Human Genetics.
The ideal candidate would be a recent PhD and/or MD with a strong background in bioinformatics, genetic epidemiology, or complex trait analyses, including experience with conducting large-scale analysis on genome-wide datasets. Proficiency in a programming language (such as R, python, perl) is required. Candidates should also be familiar with specialized bioinformatics programs for genomic analysis, public genomics resources and databases, and statistical analysis methods.
