POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW (Research Statistical Geneticist)The USDA, Agricultural Research Service, Nutrition and Genomics Laboratory, Jean-Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging, Boston, Massachusetts, is seeking a POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW (Research Statistical Geneticist). Recent Ph.D. in genetics, biostatistics or a closely related field is required. Preferred knowledge includes biostatistics, genetics, and nutrition, and skills in SAS and R programming are highly desirable. Salary is commensurate with experience ($62,758 - $81,583 per annum) plus benefits. US citizens and permanent residents only.
Healthy dietary habits are paramount to reduce the risk of age-related diseases and achieve healthy aging. However, the large interindividual variation in response to diet calls for precision nutrition - more personalized and effective nutritional recommendations based on genomic information. To define the genetic, epigenetic and environmental factors responsible for the inter-individual variability in response to dietary fat intake and cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk, the incumbent will join a team of leaders in the field of nutrition genomics to develop predictive algorithms of dietary response that will be tested and validated in intervention and cohort studies.
