Postdoctoral Position in Structural Biology at Case Western Reserve University
Case Western Reserve University, Department of Physiology and Biophysics
An NIH-funded postdoctoral position is available for a highly motivated membrane protein/structural biologist in the laboratory of Sudha Chakrapani at the Department of Physiology and Biophysics, Case Western Reserve University. We have state-of-the-art equipment and facilities for cryo-EM and EPR spectroscopy with the addition of Titan Krios and pulsed-EPR spectrometer in Jan 2019.
The project will involve determination of structure and function of clinically important ion channels and transporters. We are using multidisciplinary, cutting-edge approaches to determine structure (cryo-EM and X-ray crystallography), protein dynamics (EPR spectroscopy), and function (patch-clamping in proteoliposomes and HEK cells, two electrode voltage-clamp). We are seeking candidates with a strong background in molecular biology, membrane protein expression/purification, and X-ray crystallography/cryo-EM. Please see our website for details on the publications from our group: https://sites.google.com/case.edu/sudha-chakrapani-lab/home
Interested candidates should email Sudha Chakrapani (sxc584@case.edu) with a cover letter describing the candidate’s research interests, CV, and contact details of three referees.
