Postdoctoral Fellowship in Mycobacterial Pathogenesis

University of Notre Dame (ND)

Notre Dame, United States

Posted about 1 day agoExpires on November 22, 2020

A full-time postdoctoral position is available in Patricia Champion’s Lab in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Notre Dame (https://biology.nd.edu/people/patricia-champion/). We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to study the molecular mechanisms of mycobacterial disease. The major project associated with this position is focused on defining the fundamental mechanisms underlying N-terminal protein acetylation in pathogenic mycobacteria.

Qualifications: We seek a candidate with a Ph.D and a solid background in microbiology, genetics, molecular biology, or biochemistry. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to complete projects during their PhD and experience in standard laboratory techniques. Experience in protein purification and enzymology or molecular genetics in bacterial pathogens is a plus, but not required. We seek a candidate with a positive and inclusive attitude and a strong work ethic, who can work well independently and in teams.

Job Duties: The successful candidate will design and execute experiments, interpret data, prepare scientific presentations and publications, and will supervise students as needed.

Pay will be commensurate with experience based on the NRSA stipend levels from the NIH.

The position is available immediately.

Please send your CV, a letter of interest and a list of three references via email to Dr. Patricia Champion (pchampio@nd.edu).

Notre Dame is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to building a culturally diverse workplace. We strongly encourage applications from candidates that will enhance the diversity of our laboratory.
