- Design, prototype and validate a new global-fit pipeline for the analysis of LISA scientific data (main deliverable). - Participate in activities of the LISA Data Challenge and submit global-fit solutions of increasing complexity to successive dataset releases (in collaboration with APC and CEA). - Cooperate with the LISA Data Processing Group to design the software architecture needed to produce LISA scientific data (in collaboration with CNES). - Explore the use of artificial intelligence techniques to accelerate and improve global-fit pipelines for LISA data analysis.

Postdoctoral position at L2IT to work on the simulation and analysis of LISA data. The candidate will work under the direction of the head of the gravitational wave group at L2IT, Nicola Tamanini, and in collaboration with the LISA groups at L2IT, CNES, APC and CEA.

The Laboratoire des 2 Infinis - Toulouse (L2IT) is a new laboratory created in 2020 with the objective to pursue fundamental research with innovative numerical and theoretical approaches. The laboratory's research focuses on particle physics, gravitational waves and the nuclear matter equation of state, and is supported by a complementary development of data analysis and data science methodologies. The gravitational waves group at L2IT conducts research on the theoretical and experimental aspects of gravitational wave science, with particular emphasis on exploiting new ideas linking theory and observations to data analysis and numerical simulations. The group is part of the LISA Cosortium and the Virgo Collaboration, and currently counts three permanent members, Christelle Buy, Sylvain Marsat and Nicola Tamanini.

Eligibility criteria

- Research experience on data analysis or simulations for the observations of gravitational waves - Experience with the interpretation of astrophysical and numerical results linked to gravitational wave data - Proven skills on the use of the main scientific programming languages (Python, C, C++, ...) - Ability to work within a large international collaboration such as LIGO/Virgo or LISA
