Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position to design, measure and explain the functional properties of a range of nanostructures and nanostructured materials produced using supercritical fluid electrodeposition as part of a flagship program grant. They will join the material properties team within a larger interdisciplinary program researching and exploiting novel methods for depositing nanostructures and nanomaterials.
The successful applicant will possess a good understanding of the physics of materials and nanoscience and in addition a range of practical skills which will enable them to measure and explain the properties of nanostructures and nanomaterials. As they will form part of a team of material property specialists working on the project there is some flexibility as to precisely what skills and knowledge they will contribute. Areas of particular interest include micro/nanofabrication skills (e.g. e-beam and optical lithography, thin film deposition, electrical measurements on nanodevices, use of a FIB to etch and deposit) and electrical measurements on individual nanowires. However other related skills are of interest and a desire to learn new skills is key.
