Job Description
Housed within the Center for Rural Health and Health Disparities within the Mercer University School of Medicine’s Department of Community Medicine, the Postdoctoral Fellow will be an active member of the research team of an NIH Center of Excellence focused on eliminating health disparities in rural populations. The Postdoc will devote 75% effort as project coordinator of a research subproject within the Center of Excellence (including assistance with overall study management, recruitment and retention of participants, quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, intervention development, report preparation, publications, and presentations), with the remaining 25% effort devoted to other activities in support of the Center of Excellence’s overall activities across research, training, and community engagement. The research subproject for the Postdoc position focuses on developing and testing a novel, rural-focused telehealth-based intervention focused on improving outcomes in diabetes, hypertension, and depression. The Postdoc will also receive didactic training and career mentoring to help prepare them for careers in rural health disparities and community-engaged research.
