The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG). The position aims at obtaining further academic qualification (e.g. habilitation thesis), and allows the candidate to become scientifically competitive on an international level through peer-reviewed publications and conference contributions.

Tasks: The candidate will be responsible for the nanoscopic and microscopic investigation of the electronic and optical properties of conductive domain walls in a broad pallet of (multi) ferroic materials systems, applying both our dedicated and unique scanning probe methods (SPM) [i.e. Kelvin-probe force microscopy (KPFM), piezo-response force microscopy (PFM), topographic and conductive AFM, magnetic force microscopy (MFM), etc.) as well as linear and nonlinear optical techniques. The candidate will lead the Ferroix team that is known for its outlocal-scale research in charged domain walls, with the goal to extend this research into possible device applications. Beyond offering the possibility for his/her next-stage higher qualification, the position also includes advising/teaching students in seminars and lab-courses, the supervision of PhD, Masters- and Bachelor students, as well as applying for third-party funding.
